| In 1976, increasing demand led
to a special department being set up to deal exclusively with packaging
for potatoes, fruit and vegetables.
Research and development of suitable packaging forms in a wide range of materials is now carried out. In close collaboration with customers, the target is always the best possible combination of attractive packaging and equally attractive price. An important 'added value' of eurea is the company's flexibility and short delivery times, which makes it possible to deliver directly 'just in time' from stock. Since 1982, eurea has been active in the development and production of FIBCs (flexible intermediate bulk containers). This is a packaging form which has taken off enormously in recent years. Not only has the use of FIBCs increased greatly, but so has the range of possible applications. The importance of this packaging form has therefore grown proportionately. eurea has played an important role in all aspects of the product's development.
The development of the role of FIBCs in the packaging sector owes much to innovations developed by eurea. For example, the special conductive fibre used in the ECOTAINER CD® has been patented by eurea. This FIBC can discharge static electricity, so that FIBCs can be used in explosive environments. However, eurea is constantly exploring new applications. New materials and new production methods constantly increase the range of applications: eurea now produces FIBCs for the chemical and foodstuffs industries, as well as for the construction sector.

LINERS FIBCs can be provided with so-called 'liners'. This special packaging form enables safe transport and storage of extremely sensitive products such as flavourings or essences.
UV Indicator Never underestimate the dangers of the sun! On request, FIBCs can be provided with a special UV indicator.
Reco-recycling Growing environmental awareness demands an ever more active attitude on the part of both the producers and users of packaging. eurea has therefore developed the 'Reco refurbishment' scheme whereby used packaging can be collected and processed for re-use.
